What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Artificial Intelligence or AI is a technology that is made to think like a human, learn from data and assist with or perform tasks that normally require a human to complete. AI is capable of processing large amounts of data from various sources in a matter of seconds and delivers results quickly which can accelerate human led processes and overall productivity.
What can AI be used for?
There are loads of AI tools currently swarming the online world, with new ones constantly being developed.
Some helpful things that AI can assist you in 2024 are:
- Images, videos, and audio
DALL-E 3, Eleven Labs, and VEED are great examples of tools that can help make editing and generating images, videos, and audio a whole lot easier.
- Content
You can generate ideas and establish a great starting point for writing content using tools such as ChatGPT. We don’t recommend using AI to completely write content for you, more as an assistant, as it is known for repeating existing content.
- Research
Research can take up a lot of time; AI can streamline the process. You can fire as many questions as you need, it will provide you with answers to the best of their ability within seconds.
- Planning
Whether it’s planning your meals for the month to match your diet requirements or planning your ab workout over the next 60 days, you can have a full conversion with AI to get it to understand your needs and create a custom plan for you with ease.
- Inspiration
If you’re stuck or struggling to find a solution to a problem, AI can be a great tool for inspiration. Simply tell it what obstacle you’re trying to overcome, review its suggestions, and ask further questions to get more detail. You might be surprised by how quickly this can get you back on track.
Where does AI get its information from?
I’m sure this doesn’t come as a huge surprise, but AI can’t come up with information out of thin air; it analyses different sources to provide you with the best answer possible answer to its ability.
- Training Data
AI is trained on large datasets such as text, images, audio, or other types of data. These are collected from a variety of different sources, including public repositories, proprietary databases, and user-generated content.
- Web Scraping
AI can find the information they need that best fits your input by searching the internet. This can come from scrapping websites, forum discussions, and social media but may not always be up-to-date information, especially with GPT-3.5, as it is not trained regularly.
- Human Input
User input can help AI models learn.
Does AI get things wrong?
Of course. Just like humans, AI sometimes gets things wrong, and with information constantly evolving, AI can deliver wrong or outdated information. If we take GPT-3.5 as an example, all of the data it provides will only be up to date as of its last update, which was October 2023 at the time of writing. To get around this, you need to supply it with current information yourself when you’re constructing your prompt.
